Biden Administration Working to Develop Covid Vaccine Passports

The Biden administration is reportedly working on developing coronavirus vaccine passports that would allow Americans to prove that they have been vaccinated since some businesses have indicated that they will require proof of vaccination for people to enter their businesses.

This should come as no surprise as we’re seeing various nations around the world push forward for their own covid vaccine passports. The EU is working towards their own, Israel has already begun use of its Green Pass, Japan is also joining the initiative, and recently we’ve learned that New York will be the first state in the US to employ its Excelsior Pass.

In my article concerning New York’s new Excelsior Pass, I said we shouldn’t be surprised to soon see this initiative go national. But now we can clearly see that such an initiative has already been in the works. The question here has never been “will they do this?” but rather “when will they do this?”

The San Diego Union-Tribune also noted something that caught my attention, “One of the teams working on vaccine passports is the Vaccination Credential Initiative, a coalition endeavoring to standardize how data in vaccination records is tracked.”

I originally wrote about the Vaccination Credential Initiative (VCI) in January and since then have been seeing them mentioned frequently. Another one to keep our eyes on is the Good Health Pass Collaborative. We’re seeing these various initiatives working towards the same goal of developing guidelines to allow for this digital vaccine passport technology to work seamlessly.

What seems to be one of the main issues however is how digital vaccine passes from various nations will work together. After many more nations start utilizing this tool, I believe that we may then begin seeing a big push to make sure all these various digital passports either work together on a global level, or to instead use the existing system to create a consolidated platform that will then be used globally. A USA Today article on New York’s Excelsior Pass speaks to this issue,

Another hurdle will be finding a consistent set of standards, so what counts as an acceptable test or vaccine in one state or country will count in another. At least two competing sets of standards are being developed globally to allow secure access to information about vaccination status, particularly for international travel.

Keep in mind that we’ve already been seeing calls for this very thing by the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change back in January as well as Chinese President Xi Jinping as he called for a “Global QR Code System“.

I’ve made it clear numerous times that I believe what we’re seeing being brought to fruition today may be laying the groundwork for the mark of the beast system we read about in Revelation 13:16-17 that ultimately arises during the tribulation period.

Although I do not believe this vaccine or this digital health passport technology is the mark of the beast, as it comes out during the tribulation, I’ve made it clear that it may very well be a shadow of that system. For the believer in Christ, these are exciting times as we see our redemption draws near!

Biden Admin Working On Vaccine Passports That ‘Could Display A Scannable Code Similar To An Airline Boarding Pass’: Report

From The Daily Wire: “The administration’s initiative has been driven largely by arms of the Department of Health and Human Services, including an office devoted to health information technology, said five officials who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss the effort,” The Washington Post reported.

“The White House this month took on a bigger role coordinating government agencies involved in the work, led by coronavirus coordinator Jeff Zients, with a goal of announcing updates in coming days.” The report said that a digital version of the vaccine passport would be available through smartphone apps and “could display a scannable code similar to an airline boarding pass.”

Developers told the Post that people should also have the option of printing out a vaccine passport. The vaccine passports are expected to face “significant hurdles” surrounding data privacy and making sure that the passports cannot be counterfeited.

“One of the most significant hurdles facing federal officials: the sheer number of passport initiatives underway, with the Biden administration this month identifying at least 17,” the Post added.

“Those initiatives — such as a World Health Organization-led global effort and a digital pass devised by IBM that is being tested in New York state — are rapidly moving forward, even as the White House deliberates about how best to track the shots and avoid the perception of a government mandate to be vaccinated.” Read More

Biden, companies working to develop ‘vaccine passports.’ It won’t be easy

From The San Diego Union-Tribune: The Biden administration and private companies are working to develop a standard way of handling credentials – often referred to as “vaccine passports” – that would allow Americans to prove they have been vaccinated against the novel coronavirus as businesses try to reopen.

The effort has gained momentum amid President Joe Biden’s pledge that the nation will start to regain normalcy this summer and with a growing number of companies – from cruise lines to sports teams – saying they will require proof of vaccination before opening their doors again.

The administration’s initiative has been driven largely by arms of the Department of Health and Human Services, including an office devoted to health information technology, said five officials who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss the effort. The White House this month took on a bigger role coordinating government agencies involved in the work, led by coronavirus coordinator Jeff Zients, with a goal of announcing updates in coming days, said one official.

The White House declined to answer questions about the passport initiative, instead pointing to public statements that Zients and other officials made this month.

“Our role is to help ensure that any solutions in this area should be simple, free, open source, accessible to people both digitally and on paper, and designed from the start to protect people’s privacy,” Zients said at a March 12 briefing.

The initiative has emerged as an early test of the Biden administration, with officials working to coordinate across dozens of agencies and a variety of experts, including military officials helping administer vaccines and health officials engaging in international vaccine efforts. Read More
