Chinese Communist President Xi Jinping wants travelers to adopt a global QR code system to help determine their health status and travel “permissions” in a post-coronavirus pandemic travel reset. (2)
China is already well known for its draconian control over its citizens, its social credit system coupled with millions of cameras deployed all over the country for mass surveillance being just a few things that come to mind. Recently, they’ve also been hard at work with their digital Yuan which could very well be another means to keep track of their citizens.
Now, Chinese President Xi Jinping is calling for the adoption of a global QR code system that will act as a Covid health certificate to determine who is healthy enough (or not) to travel. Sounds like a common sense solution right? Except that it’s coming from the leader of a Communist regime. That alone should cause many of us consider the ramifications of such an idea
The main problem here isn’t the concept in and of itself. If we boil it down, essentially what is being proposed for here is another digital health passport system, such as CommonPass or Covi-Pass that I’ve reported on earlier in the year. What worries some is that what starts in China doesn’t necessarily stay in China.
As they race towards a digital currency, and now promote the use of a global Covid health certificate of some type, this will only add to other nations considering it.
China Wants Passenger Tracking System for Global Travel Coronavirus Reset
From Breitbart: During the virtual G20 summit on Saturday, Xi called for a coronavirus “global mechanism” which involves international recognition of health certificates in the form of QR codes to allow people to travel freely, according to state media. The dictator says the system can be based on “nucleic acid testing results in the form of internationally accepted QR codes,” reported state news agency Xinhua.
“We need to further harmonise policies and standards and establish ‘fast tracks’ to facilitate the orderly flow of people,” he is quoted saying. “[We] hope more countries would participate.” QR codes are bar codes that can be read by mobile phones that are a common tool of tracking and control in Communist China.
Under the scheme China has employed since February, users are issued a traffic-light style health code, with a green code allowing someone to travel freely, and an orange or red code indicating that they need to quarantine for up to two weeks.
The codes are based on a combination of big data and information submitted by the users themselves. The leader of the Chinese Communist Party did not explain how the international scheme might work or if it would mirror the health code system which has been widely adopted in China. Give Everyone a Barcode? China Trying to Use COVID Fears to Launch Global Tracking System for Humans
From CBN News: China’s communist leader Xi Jinping is calling for countries across the world to accept a global COVID-19 tracking system that uses QR codes in an attempt to expedite international travel. Xi proposed the concept during a virtual G20 leaders’ meeting on Saturday, noting that this “global mechanism” uses an electronic barcode that would help determine a traveler’s health status, according to China’s government-run “news” agency.
“China has proposed a global mechanism on the mutual recognition of health certificates based on nucleic acid test results in the form of internationally accepted QR codes,” Xi said. “We hope more countries will join this mechanism.” “We need to further harmonise policies and standards and establish ‘fast tracks’ to facilitate the orderly flow of personnel,” he added.
The system provides users with a color code based on their risk of exposure to the coronavirus and the QR codes, or bar codes can be read on mobile devices. A green code indicates that someone is safe to travel, while an orange or red code signifies the need to quarantine for up to two weeks. Xi didn’t elaborate on the type of app or QR code system that would be used and who would design it.
Meanwhile, some people have expressed concerns over the use of a system that was designed by China’s communist party which is known for using extreme methods to control people through censorship and surveillance. Read More
Prophetic Implications
As usual with current events, it’d be remiss of me not to explain why this worldwide move towards digital health passport systems that can include or exclude people into society based on certain conditions is prophetically significant. The key passage of focus for us being Revelation 13:16-17.
He causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hand or on their foreheads, and that no one may buy or sell except one who has the mark or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. (Revelation 13:16-17)
As we’re seeing this move towards such a system being described to us in this passage, it should show us the nearness of this time period, My purpose here isn’t to state that a Covid health certificate of some type that President Xi Jinping is proposing or any other type of digital health passport is the mark of the beast or the system itself.
The mark and the system will not reach its ultimate fulfillment until the tribulation period so that context has to be kept in mind. However, signs such as this one shows clearly that we’re in the season of the Lord’s return and that should be something that excites the believer as our redemption draws near!
