Green Pass: Israel’s Covid Vaccine Pass Gives Some Path to ‘Normal Life’

The Health Ministry on Thursday launched the long-awaited “Green Pass” certificate which will enable those vaccinated or recovered from the coronavirus to take part in various activities. At the same time, the ministry warned of serious legal penalties for those who falsify the passes.

In an effort to reopen safely, Israel is utilizing their “Green Pass”, a coronavirus vaccine passport that will enable vaccinated citizens (which at his point is roughly half of their population) to return to a semblance of “normalcy”.

This was used in an open-air concert in Tel Aviv which was “one of the first in a programme to restart cultural events by restricting attendance to people who have been vaccinated or those with immunity after contracting the disease.”

At face value, this is just one of many digital vaccine passports I’ve reported on in the past so why bother bringing this one up? I believe Israel’s effort here is especially important to take notice of due to the fact that they’ve been able to carry out these vaccinations faster than other parts of the world.

A New York Times article, As Israel Reopens, ‘Whoever Does Not Get Vaccinated Will Be Left Behind’, details, “Israel has raced ahead with the fastest Covid vaccination campaign in the world, inoculating nearly half its population with at least one dose.”

And with the use of their Green Pass, the article notes that it essentially makes them a “live laboratory for setting the rules in a vaccinated society — raising thorny questions about rights, obligations and the greater good.” Israel will be the nation setting an example in terms of what it looks like to vaccinate large portions of the population and employ a covid vaccine pass.

In fact, leaders from the EU 27-member states came together recently for a virtual summit to discuss “coronavirus-related health and logistical problems” with vaccine passports also being a talking point.

In the meeting European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen noted Israel’s efforts with Green Pass as an example they they could potentially emulate to solve their problems, “Von der Leyen cited Israel’s work tracking and documenting a person’s vaccination history on so-called Green Passes while stressing the importance of maintaining the functionality of the European single market.”

And in an update since that meeting it’s official that the EU will in fact “propose rules for an EU vaccine ‘green pass’ this month”. I’ve made it clear numerous times that I believe what we’re seeing being brought to fruition today may be laying the groundwork for the mark of the beast system we read about in Revelation 13:16-17 that ultimately arises during the tribulation period.

Although I do not believe this vaccine or this digital health passport technology is the mark of the beast, as it comes out during the tribulation, I’ve made it clear that it may very well be a shadow of that system. For the believer in Christ, these are exciting times as we see our redemption draws near!

Government launches Green Pass for vaccinated, warns fraudsters will be jailed

From the Times of Israel: Health Minister Yuli Edelstein, Ministry Director-General Chezy Levy, and other health officials presented the new certification and demonstrated the methods of issuing the QR-code-secured pass, which has been the target of skepticism following reports demonstrating how easy it is to falsify.

Cabinet ministers on Monday approved the reopening of stores, gyms, hotels, and other venues starting Sunday, in a major easing of sweeping lockdown measures meant to slow the spread of COVID-19.

Street-front shops, malls, markets, museums, and libraries will be open to all Israelis. But only those who have been vaccinated or have recovered from COVID-19 will be able to use gyms and pools, attend sporting and culture events, and stay at hotels.

To be allowed to open Sunday, relevant businesses must undertake to scan for the pass and only accept those carrying it.

In a further easing of restrictions, the Health Ministry and the Prime Minister’s Office said Tuesday that the government will allow outdoor gatherings of up to 20 people, and indoor gatherings of up to 10, starting Friday morning. The previous rules restricted outdoor gatherings to 10 people and indoors to five. Read More

Green Pass: Israel’s Covid-19 vaccination certificate opens fast track to normal life

From NBC News: Israel reopened swathes of its economy including malls and leisure facilities on Sunday, with the government saying the start of a return to routine was enabled by Covid-19 vaccines administered to almost half the population.

Shops were open to all, but access to gyms, hotels and theatres was limited to people with a “Green Pass”: those who have had both doses of the vaccine more than a week prior, or recovered from the disease with presumed immunity.

Pass-holders could prove their status by presenting a vaccination certificate or downloading a health ministry app linked to their medical files.

Coming exactly a year after Israel’s first documented coronavirus case, Sunday’s easing of curbs was part of a government plan to open the economy more widely next month, when Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is up for reelection.

“We are the first country in the world that is reviving itself thanks to the millions of vaccines we brought in,” he tweeted. “Vaccinated? Get the Green Pass and get back to life.” Read More
