Japanese Christian Terms: Church

In this post we’ll go over the meaning of the word Church (教会) in Japanese. I also list out extra vocab, example sentences, as well as links to grammar points I use to help deepen your understanding.

Vocab:

1. 行く (いく) – to go
2. 図書館 (としょかん) – library
3. 本 (ほん) – book
4. 返す (かえす) – to return (something)

Grammar:

1. ~てから – after doing

Example Sentence:

教会に行ってから、図書館でこの本を返さなきゃ。

I need to return this book to the library after church.

Example Verses:

“He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes I will give to eat from the tree of life, which is in the midst of the Paradise of God.” – Revelation 2:7
