Episode Summary:

In this episode, I go over the events beyond the blessed hope (the rapture of the church). At the rapture we’ll get our glorified bodies then we’ll be taken to heaven to take part in the Judgment Seat of Christ (the Bema seat judgment). What follows will be the marriage of the lamb and the marriage supper of the lamb, Jesus’s Second Coming and our return with Him, the Millennial Reign of Christ, and finally, the eternal state.

I answer questions such as what will happen during the rapture and what comes after the rapture? What happens at the Judgment Seat of Christ? What are the five crowns that we’ll get in heaven? What happens during the millennium? And more.

Events Discussed

  1. The Rapture (John 14:1-3; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; 1 Corinthians 15:51-54)
  2. The Judgment/Bema Seat of Christ (Romans 14:10, 1 Corinthians 3:9-15)
  3. The Marriage & Marriage Supper of the Lamb (Revelation 19:7-9)
  4. Judgment of the Wicked at the Second Coming (Zechariah 14:1-2, 5; Jude 1:14-15; Revelation 17:12-14, 19:17-21)
  5. The Millennium (Revelation 20:1-6)
  6. The Eternal State (Revelation 21:1-5)

Scriptural References

  1. 1 Corinthians 3:9-15: “For we are Godโ€™s fellow workers; you are Godโ€™s field, you are Godโ€™s building. According to the grace of God which was given to me, as a wise master builder I have laid the foundation, and another builds on it. But let each one take heed how he builds on it. For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. Now if anyone builds on this foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw, each oneโ€™s work will become clear; for the Day will declare it, because it will be revealed by fire; and the fire will test each oneโ€™s work, of what sort it is. If anyoneโ€™s work which he has built on it endures, he will receive a reward. If anyoneโ€™s work is burned, he will suffer loss; but he himself will be saved, yet so as through fire.”
  2. Revelation 19:7-9: “Let us be glad and rejoice and give Him glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife has made herself ready.โ€™ And to her it was granted to be arrayed in fine linen, clean and bright, for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints. Then he said to me, ‘Write: ‘Blessed are those who are called to the marriage supper of the Lamb!” And he said to me, ‘These are the true sayings of God.'”
  3. Jesus Post-Resurrection: He could partake in a meal (Luke 24:40-43). He could be felt and touched (Matthew 28:9; Luke 24:38-39; John 20:20, 27). He appeared in a room without coming through the door (Luke 24:36-37; John 20:19, 26). He was able to vanish from sight (Luke 24:30-31)
  4. The 5 Crowns: The Imperishable Crown (1 Corinthians 9:24-25). The Crown of Rejoicing (1 Thessalonians 2:19). The Crown of Righteousness (2 Timothy 4:8). The Crown of Glory (1 Peter 5:2-5). The Crown of Life (James 1:12).
  5. Conditions during the Millennium: A time absent of war or violence (Isaiah 2:4). A time when the animal kingdom is at peace with itself (Isaiah 11:6, Isaiah 65:25), and humanity at peace with animals (Isaiah 11:7-8). Satan will be bound for 1,000 years (Revelation 20:1-3). It will be a time of true justice, righteousness, prosperity, and full knowledge of God on the earth (Isaiah 2:3, 9:6-7, 11:9).

The Gospel

Weโ€™ve all sinned and fallen short of the glory of God (Psalm 51:5Romans 3:23). Because God is Holy he must judge sin. The penalty of this sin is death and ultimately the Lake of fire (Romans 6:23Revelation 20:11-15). Thereโ€™s nothing we can do to save ourselves (Isaiah 64:6).

But God, in his love has provided a way to escape his wrath through Christ (John 3:16-18John 14:6). Jesus paid for our sin penalty by taking Godโ€™s wrath in our stead on the cross (Romans 5:8). He died for our sins, was buried, and rose again 3 days later (1 Corinthians 15:1-5).

You can accept this free gift of salvation by believing in Christ (Acts 16:30-31Romans 6:23Ephesians 2:8-9). Make sure youโ€™ve made the right decision about Jesus today (2 Corinthians 6:2)! It will be the most important decision of your life, for eternal life.
