Singapore Airlines has become the first carrier to officially launch a COVID passport, which will display the vaccination status and COVID test results of passengers.
This piece of news shouldn’t come as a surprise to those who have been following the latest developments concerning the digital health passports. In November, I reported that Airlines and Ticketmaster were planning on utilizing digital health passports to ensure safe reentry into society.
I also wrote about how airlines such as Australia’s Qantas airlines deemed a covid vaccine as a necessity in order to fly internationally, with vaccination passports used to verify vaccine status.
Now, Singapore airlines is the first to actually launch this system and I doubt that it’ll be the first. What was seen by many as pure fiction or as a conspiracy theory has proven itself to be true.
As I’ve also been trying to say, the implementation of this system across society isn’t being touted by just anyone. Chinese President Xi Jinping has called for a Global QR Code System that would function as a covid certificate.
Here in the US, Former presidential candidate Andrew Yang suggested a downloadable barcode system that would confirm vaccination status.
Major news outlets like CNN are also echoing the same news stating “many people may be dreaming of the day when they can travel, shop and go to the movies again. But in order to do those activities, you may eventually need something in addition to the vaccine: a vaccine passport application.”
Throughout 2020, this system was merely a talking point but has now advanced to become an implemented system that may very well be integrated into every area of our lives in the near future.
Airline Officially Launches COVID Passport Ahead Of “Global Deployment”
From Summit News: The airline announced that its ‘digital health verification process’ is the first in the world to be modelled on the International Air Transport Association’s (IATA) Travel Pass framework.
The airline said it had made the move to start trialling the process because it expects such ‘immunity passes’ to become the norm for all airline travel globally.
The company declared that COVID tests and vaccinations are sure to be “an integral part” of air travel for the foreseeable future and that certificates are the most efficient way to “validate a passenger’s health credentials.”
The company proclaimed that the health pass will provide a “more seamless experience” for customers and will be a part of “the new normal.”
The airline noted that all passengers traveling from Jakarta or Kuala Lumpur to Singapore will be mandated to take COVID tests at specific clinics in those cities.
Passengers will be issued either a digital or paper ‘health certificate’ with a QR code, according to the airline’s press release, which will be used as part of check ins and immigration control.
“Together we will demonstrate that people can return to travel with confidence that they are meeting all government Covid-19 entry requirements,” commented Nick Careen, IATA’s Senior Vice President for Airport, Passenger, and Cargo Security. Read More
Prophetic Implications
The purpose of bringing this up is to show the general direction things are headed. This has been a notable year as we’ve seen the corononavirus pandemic sped things up in amazing ways, further setting the stage for the tribulation period.
What we’re seeing being brought to fruition today – in my opinion – is part of what may very well be laying the groundwork for the mark of the beast system we read about in Revelation 13:16-17 that ultimately arises during the tribulation period.
Although I do not believe this vaccine or this digital health passport technology is the mark of the beast, as it comes out during the tribulation, I’ve made it clear that it may very well be a shadow of that system. For the believer in Christ, these are exciting times as we see our redemption draws near!
If you’re not a believer, this is an exhortation to you to cast your hopes on Christ as the world seemingly falls apart around us. I pray that you reflect on what’s been presented here in light of bible prophecy and take into consideration God’s free gift of salvation to you by which you can have eternal life and peace in the midst of life’s trials.
