Last week, Saudi Twitter pages began to promote the message that ‘the direction of Jewish prayers do not matter to me”.
I can’t begin to stress enough how important this piece of news is. Recently a movement began on Saudi twitter pages to both lessen the ties and importance of the temple mount for Muslims and instead recognize the ties of the Jewish people to the temple mount!
The temple mount has been something we’ve been keeping our eyes on for years now due to its prophetic significance in relation to the building of the third temple and how it essentially acts as a prophetic time marker. Israel365News shared that various twitter users tweeted their support with the use of the hashtag “#قبلة_اليهود_لاتعني_لنا”, which translated from Arabic into: “The Jewish aspirations has nothing to do with us”, as they recognized Jerusalem as the eternal capital of the Jewish people, called for the third temple, and hoped for Saudi-Israel peace.
Although this is a movement we’re seeing on twitter, why should we care? Because this, more than anything, shows us the changing mindset of the Saudis and other Muslims regarding what they believe to be important Holy sites for Muslims!
If this movement and mindset were to grow amongst Muslims we would see the Jews essentially gain control over the temple mount without a complaint from the Muslim world paving the way for them to rebuild the third temple which must be built and standing by the midpoint of the tribulation. Tom Nissani, CEO of the Temple Mount and Temple Heritage Foundation makes this point clear,
In the end, it is becoming increasingly clear that the main obstacle – the Temple Mount – is in our hands. Now the Saudis and Moroccans also emphasize the strong connection of the Jewish people to the Temple Mount and the diminution of its importance to Islam
I also discussed this same issue in my article in December concerning a Saudi media report making the case that the Al Aqsa mosque is not on the temple mount but instead near Mecca. Another reason I find this important is because it shows us the growing closeness of the Saudis and Israelis. This should bring our mind to Ezekiel 38:13 where Sheba and Dedan (the ancient names of modern day Saudi Arabia) protest the invasion against Israel.
For that to happen, wouldn’t it necessitate Saudi Arabia and Israel are on good terms to some extent? And this is exactly what we’ve been seeing recently. Fellow believer, if this piece of news doesn’t excite you, then I don’t know what will. These are immensely prophetic times we’re living in!
Saudis come out against Temple Mount
From Arutz Sheva (Israel National News): The campaign, designed to emphasize the importance of Mecca and Medina as the holy places of Islam, and to eliminate the importance of Jerusalem and the Temple Mount, has caused considerable controversy online.
Among the most prominent messages in the campaign were those who wrote that “the direction of the prayers of the Jews is not important to us, what is important to us is only our homeland,” referring to Saudi Arabia. This tweet was written by a well-known Saudi cartoonist named Fahd al-Jabiri.
Another English-language tweet by Ibtassam from Morocco seeks to bolster the Saudi campaign as it emphasizes that the Temple Mount is of no particular importance to Muslims, and hopes for the building of the Third Temple and the arrival of peace with it for all peoples.
According to the Saudis, the campaign is in response to the Palestinians who insult and humiliate the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for its cooperation with Israel, both online and in many demonstrations on the Temple Mount on Fridays. The reaction of the Saudis is to emphasize that Al-Aqsa is a mosque like all mosques, but the direction of prayer of the Muslims is to the city of Mecca and to it only.
Tom Nissani, CEO of the Temple Mount and Temple Heritage Foundation, noted, “In the end, it is becoming increasingly clear that the main obstacle – the Temple Mount – is in our hands. Now the Saudis and Moroccans also emphasize the strong connection of the Jewish people to the Temple Mount and the diminution of its importance to Islam.
This is a historic opportunity to expel the hostile Waqf from the Temple Mount and transfer it to full Israeli management that will allow full freedom of access and religion to the mountain in cooperation with the Emirates, Saudis and Moroccans, Jews and non-Jews who will attain shared goals.” Read More
Saudis Say Temple Mount and Al Aqsa Not Important to Islam
From Israel Today: In further departure from Palestinian narrative, Saudis recognize Jewish connection to the Temple Mount.
Palestinian politicians, clerics and terrorist warlords tireless invoke the Temple Mount and Al Aqsa Mosque as a rallying cry to stir up pan-Muslim emotions against Israel. The Jews are threatening to “Judaize” this Islamic holy site, claim the Palestinians, even as they reject the biblical history of Mount Moriah.
But according to a bunch of Saudis and other Middle East Arabs on social media, the Temple Mount and even, gasp(!), Al Aqsa itself aren’t all that holy to them.
Last week on Twitter, Saudis conducted a campaign promoting Islam’s true holy sites, Mecca and Medina, while downplaying the importance of Jerusalem in their religion.
One of the more viral tweets was posted by Saudi cartoonist Fahd al-Jabiri, who wrote that “the direction of the prayers of the Jews is not important to us, what is important to us is only our homeland.” By referencing the “direction of the prayers of the Jews,” al-Jabiri implicitly recognized the Jewish connection to the Temple Mount, thus contradicting the Palestinian narrative on the matter.
