Red Heifer in Israel Signaling “Final Stage of Redemption”

In late August of 2018, a red heifer was born in Israel and marked a significant turning point for efforts surrounding the rebuilding of the Jewish temple, paving the way for rituals and sacrifices in Israel again after more than 2,000 years.

In late August 2018, a red heifer in Israel was born, marking what some saw as a significant turning point for efforts surrounding the rebuilding of the Jewish temple. According to Breaking Israel News, the red heifer fulfills all Biblical requirements per the book of Numbers 19,

Now the Lord spoke to Moses and Aaron, saying, “This is the ordinance of the law which the Lord has commanded, saying: ‘Speak to the children of Israel, that they bring you a red heifer without blemish, in which there is no defect and on which a yoke has never come. (Numbers 19:1-2)

So why is this significant to us Christians as we’re watching and waiting for the return of the Lord? The article says “Last Tuesday (August 28th, 2018), the Temple Institute’s Red Heifer program was blessed with results; an entirely red female calf was born, paving the way for re-establishing the Temple service and marking the final stage of redemption.”

To summarize, the red heifer is used as a sacrifice – a purification of sin (Numbers 19:17) – but is ultimately meant to point to Jesus. It’s blood is used to purify the people of Israel and make way for temple services. So what this means is, if there is no red heifer, there is no third temple.

If you’re familiar with bible prophecy, then you know that in the middle of the tribulation, the abomination of desolation occurs when the antichrist puts an end to animal sacrifices in the future 3rd temple in Israel and declares himself to be God (Daniel 9:27, Matthew 24:15).

According to the article, there hasn’t been a suitable red heifer in Israel for over 2,000 years stating, “If there has been no red heifer for the past 2,000 years, perhaps it is because the time was not right; Israel was far from being ready. But now… what could it mean for the times we live in, to have the means for purification so close at hand? With the words of Maimonides in mind, we cannot help but wonder and pray: If there are now red heifers… is ours the era that will need them?”

It’s also important to mention that if at any time the red heifer becomes blemished for any reason, then it is disqualified from being used, restarting the process. However, if it stays in its current form then this means there will be increased efforts in the rebuilding of the 3rd temple paving the way for rituals and sacrifices in Israel again after more than 2,000 years.

A suitable red heifer in Israel is just another piece of news that speaks about the lateness of the hour. If we already can see the prophecy of the abomination of desolation nearing fulfillment, then how much closer is the beginning of the tribulation? Likewise, how much closer are we to the rapture of the church?
