The Gospel

“And he brought them out and said, ‘Sirs, what must I do to be saved?’ So they said, ‘Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household'”, (Acts 16:30-31)

Christianity isn’t a “religion”. It isn’t meant to chain you down with a bunch of do’s and don’ts. The focus isn’t on how many times you go to church, or how often you donate to the needy, or how well you can perform in God’s eyes; the focus is on Christ and his finished work on the cross (Ephesians 2:8-9). He didn’t come to establish a religion with dozens of differing sects but to tear the veil between man and God and re-establish a relationship with him through Christ (Matthew 27:50-51).

“What must I do to be saved”?

Romans 10:9 says, “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” All you need to do is believe in your heart that Jesus is who is says he is, that he died on the cross and rose again 3 days later and confess that belief with your mouth, and you will be sealed with the holy spirit. It’s as simple as that.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life”, (John 3:16)

“Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved”, (Acts 4:12)

I would also recommend watching the 4 minute video below by pastor JD Farag which explains the human condition, what it means to be saved, and why we need a savior.
